Friday, December 1 – Christmas Tree Lighting

The annual, Christmas Tree Lighting will take place at 7:00 pm at the plaza on Buffalo Street in Downtown Johnson City. Join us for music and holiday cheer as we revive a tradition for Johnson City. The Indian Trail Chorus will sing familiar holiday songs. Santa will lead us in the tree lighting ceremony.

Saturday, December 2 – Johnson City Christmas Parade

This year’s Johnson City Christmas Parade theme is “It’s a Storybook Christmas”. The parade begins at 11:30 am. It will travel down W. Walnut Street, to Buffalo Street, turns right on Main Street, to Colonial Way, left on State of Franklin and ends at Legion Street. Saturday, December 2 – Whoville Village

Following the parade, we’d like to invite you to visit Whoville Village. Community organizations will be providing kids activities from 12:30 pm – 2:30 pm in the Pavilion at Founders Park. A DJ dance party, storytelling, crafts, games and much more! Bring your camera to take the kids picture with the Grinch and our other famous storybook friends. Make sure you visit the food trucks at Whoville Village or one of the wonderful local restaurants in downtown on Saturday. The event is free and open to the public.

 December 1, 2, 3- Holiday Splash: Fine Art & Craft Holiday Market

On Friday, Saturday and Sunday there will be fine art and craft items made by local and regional artisans for sale at the Hands On! Museum Ballroom. On Friday the market is open from 12:00-8:30 pm, on Saturday the market is open from 10:00 am- 6:00 pm, and on Sunday the market is open from 12:00- 5:00 pm. The event is free and open to the public. Stop by and do some Christmas shopping!
