Christmas Tree Lighting

The annual, Christmas Tree Lighting will take place on Friday, November 30 at 6:00 PM in King Commons located in Downtown Johnson City in front of the Johnson City Public Library. Join us for music and holiday cheer as we revive a tradition for Johnson City. The Indian Trail Chorus will sing familiar holiday songs.

Hometown Holiday Street Fest

The merchants of Downtown Johnson City invite you to join us after the tree lighting on Friday, November 30 from 6:30 to 9:00 PM for a magical evening of shopping, live holiday music, refreshments, petting zoo, and more! Art and Craft vendors will be set up in the streets of downtown to sell their wares along with holiday songs, hot cider, FREE pictures with the Frozen Princess Elsa and FREE rides on the Holiday Bus from the Tree Lighting to Main Street. Look for llamas dressed in red pajamas, sheep in holiday bows, and many more friendly animals at the petting zoo!

Johnson City Christmas Parade

This year’s Johnson City Christmas Parade theme is “The 12 Days of Christmas”. The parade will be hosted on Saturday, December 1 at 11:00 AM. It will travel down W. Walnut Street, to Buffalo Street, turns right on Main Street, to Colonial Way, left on State of Franklin and ends at Legion Street. Whoville Village

Following the parade on Saturday, December 1, we’d like to invite you to visit Whoville Village. Community organizations will be providing kids activities from 12:00 to 2:00 PM in the Pavilion at Founders Park. Music, storytelling, crafts, games and much more! Bring your camera to take the kids picture with the Grinch and our other famous storybook friends. Make sure you visit the food trucks at Whoville Village or one of the wonderful local restaurants in downtown on Saturday. The event is free and open to the public.

 Holiday Splash Art Market

Looking for unique gifts for the holidays? Stop by the JCPA Holiday Splash Art Market on Saturday, December 8 between 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. You’ll find one-of-a-kind fine arts and handcrafted items for everyone on your list! Artisans will offer everything from fiber art and jewelry to paintings and photography (and more!). Enjoy light refreshments and live music while you shop! The market will be held in the old JC Penney’s building (309 E. Main St.) in downtown Johnson City.

Gallery on the Square Reveal

Join us on Saturday, December 8 at 10:30 AM for the the unveiling of new art in the breezeway between the King’s Centre and the old Massengill’s building (off S. Roan St.).  Some of the new art pieces were completed by local high school students. In addition, JCPA will unveil a community art piece that community members have been contributing to throughout the year.
